Today Love Gives Ministries had the opportunity to attend a workshop on becoming a “Certified Homelessness Advocate” sponsored by Georgia State University Police H.O.P.E Team. It was an awesome experience to network with like minded people from Safe House of Atl., Covenant House Georgia, Good Day! Good Deeds! and Gateway Center just to name a few. We attended  5 hour class and Jim and I received our certificate!!! What an honor to be included in such a group of loving and giving professionals. We love what you allow us to do. #lovegiveserve

Today Love Gives Ministries served those in need in South Georgia who were affected by the tornado earlier this month. We shared many items from our inventory such as hygiene items, diapers and wipes, then went shopping for other items such as rakes, shovels and work gloves and more. We delivered them to the former Turner Field where WSB was holding their Convoy for Care. Tractor trailer trucks were being loaded for delivery south later in the week. Once again this work is made possible by your thoughtful and generous donations to Love Gives Ministries, we are so appreciative and grateful for giving us the opportunity to serve. If you would like to contribute, WSB will be collecting through the end of the week. LOVE GIVE SERVE!!!!

Trailer Story

By God’s Grace ....we were blessed with this brand new trailer!!!! Here’s how it happened. Once we realized that it was a trailer we actually needed instead of a vehicle we started to pray in that direction but told no one about our decision.  Three days later while checking the mail, there was an unexpected donation for $3,000! At the time we didn’t know the cost of a trailer but this certainly gave us the excitement to go check.  The helpful people (Jim and Scottie) at www.trailersforless.com got us started. We told them why we needed a trailer and they did the rest. They outlined exactly what we needed and told us it would cost $4,000. Not wanting to use any of our “food money” to cover the difference we said we would be back when God provided the missing $1,000.  As only God can do, within 24 hours we received a $1,000 donation through Pay Pal. Remember no one even knew we were praying for a trailer. Needless to say we immediately got back with Jim and Scottie and ordered our trailer!!! These kind and generous gentlemen helped us get all we needed at no extra cost to us.  Our next step is to have our trailer built out with shelves and a serving table to help us better serve our guests.  We are so grateful to each and everyone of you for your faithful donations, support and prayers. We know that this ministry belongs to all of you and we don’t take that lightly.

We also know that God has blessed us beyond measure and we consider it our joy and blessing to serve.

Pants Challenge

Hey LOVE GIVES MINISTRIES friends ...are you up for a Challenge???

We are collecting 214 pair of pants by 2/14 (Valentine’s Day) to distribute to the homeless. We need any pants you have both men’s and women’s, jeans, work pants, sweatpants even dress pants ...any size, any color. We ask that you put a hand written NOTE of ENCOURAGEMENT in the pocket of each pair you donate. This extra step of kindness will bring added love to someone’s heart and could change someone’s life. LGM will be glad to pick up local donations and also we will receive donations at our home (contact us for location). LGM is counting on each one of you to help with “214  By  2/14” as you all have so graciously helped before!
